Year 2 Anti-Bullying
Year 2 really enjoyed our work on anti-bullying. They learned about what bullying is and how it might look. They sensibly took part in role play activities where we considered what it would be like if we were bullied and nobody helped. All of the children agreed that the person being bullied would feel very sad. We then discussed ways we could help someone who was being bullied and demonstrated this through role play. The children came up with great ideas such as:
- - Telling a grown up.
- - Asking the bully to stop.
- - Taking the victim out of the situation and playing with them.
Class 2 Red then used these to create our ‘Anti-Bullying Tree’ which is displayed in our classroom. We wrote our ideas on leaves, decorated them and then added them to our tree. This is to always remind us how we can help others.
2 Blue created a beautiful ‘Friendship Wreath’ where they decorated hands and wrote on them ways they could be a good friend. They also wrote acrostic poems about friends.
Year 2 then had lots of fun creating their own friendship bracelets. This was quite tricky but it was lovely to see the children’s determination to succeed and their kindness when helping and supporting their friends.
