Outdoor Learning Begins....
This year, partially inspired by Covid and the importance of fresh air, we have decided that outdoor learning will be a key feature of our curriculum offer for all children. We are very fortunate to have a beautiful little garden area with a shed, a covered area, benches and raised beds for growing.
This week, Mr MacDonald and Miss Curry (who will be working toward gaining full Forest School qualifications) have been clearing and tidying, in preparation for our first group of children.
As you can see from the pictures, our fruit trees are bursting with fresh fruit - we have apples, pears, raspberries, redcurrants, plums, as well as some fresh herbs. We will be having a good think how we can use these for everyone's benefit. In the mean time, let's keep our fingers crossed for weather like we are having this week.
However, we all know the weather in England can turn quite quickly. Does this mean we will abandon our outdoor learning? Absolutely not! We are also investing this year in warm, waterproof clothing for the children, meaning we can continue learning outside all year round.
