Forest School Update - Summer 1
Well the season of spring started with snow but steadily it has got sunnier and warmer as we head towards summer.
Springtime in Forest School has been a joy! The trees are full with lush leaves and blossom, the tadpoles in the pond are growing back legs and becoming little froglets while butterflies and bumblebees have also started to flutter around Forest School.
They have been digging for treasure in our new digging area, looking for brilliant bugs, building shady shelters, mixing cool and clever potions, baking bread twists, planting flowers, fruits and vegetables, colouring wood cookies (slices of wood), making mini rafts, leaf printing, making sun catchers and, of course, celebrating the King’s Coronation!!!
Some children also got to grips with using a new tool - a bow saw. They then used the bow saw to carefully cut their own wood cookie and then unleash their artistic skills by designing and colouring their cookie! The children were absolutely great at listening and learning how to safely use and store a bow saw. The Forest School team were most impressed!
You can see our children doing all these wonderful things in the photos!
After such a brilliant, busy term, I think everyone has deserved a bit of a rest.
