Forest School - Autumn 2
Forest school has been awesome this Autumn!
Lots of colourful Autumn leaves, plenty of blue sky and sunshine, and best of all lots (and we mean a lot) of contented chatter from our children.
It has been a real delight to be part of Forest School and listen to the children freely talking to each other and us (the adults). They’ve talked about what they are doing, their own ideas and thoughts, things they've done in and out of school and perhaps, best of all, just talking about things that they are interested in! At Canning Street we believe that being at Forest School gives that extra bit of freedom to relax, chat and 'be yourself'. That is something we want all our children to experience alongside all the exciting things that they do back in the classroom.
The new mud kitchen has been a real hit! Our children have been extremely messy, chatty and creative when making lots of traditional mud kitchen meals using ingredients from around the world! My favourite meal was presented by a very proud child who said it was "stew with Italian mushrooms"! It was thick muddy water, with leaves and conkers! Delicious!
