Dissecting Hearts in Year 6

Dissecting Lamb Hearts

Year 6 have been learning all about the human body in their recent theme, 'Marvellous Me'. This included learning all about the function and the purpose of the heart.

The children dissected lamb hearts in their science lesson today and have identified the features of a heart, including ventricles, atria and aorta, both internally and externally. The children could see where the oxygenated and deoxygenated blood travels and linked it to their learning about the circulation system.

They had lots of fun doing it!
