Year 5 and 6 Parliamentary visit

Year 5 and 6 were lucky enough to be visited by a Parliamentary Outreach Officer who held an assembly all about how laws are passed and the jobs of the people who work in parliament.

She also taught separate workshops to Y6 about how to debate topical issues and different methods of expressing their views through voting, campaigning and communicating with their local MP.

The children really enjoyed this learning and some are even planning on taking their ideas for change to the next level, using some of the methods they were taught.
