Newcastle Schools Achievement Awards 2017
Congratulations to Lukas in Year 5 and Helin in Year 3 for receiving 2017 Newcastle Schools Achievement Awards! Here are the reasons why;
Lukas is a young man who is credit to himself and his class. He has made significant progress in his literacy and numeracy since the start of the year. He has progressed from working with teacher support at the beginning of the term to working with increasing independence. His enthusiasm and willingness to have-a-go are qualities that he brings to school every day. In his literacy he has moved from working at sentence-level to writing in larger structures using sophisticated devices like relative clauses and rhetorical questions. In his maths he has made progress using all four major calculations to good effect. He is a pleasure to teach and an example to class.
Helin is a very talented and hard-working child who displays good ability across a range of subjects. She is an excellent role model for her peers and always is extremely positive about any work set. She is very dependable and holds positions of responsibility within the class. She shows initiative and often works independently. She is always cheery and helps other children when working in pairs or small groups.
