Investing in Children

School Council

Two children per class are voted to be school councillors. They represent their year group’s opinions and ideas about how the school is run and organised at the weekly School Council meeting which is led by the teacher responsible for the School Council

All of the children in each class vote to decide who their class buddies are to be. One girl and one boy are chosen. It is their job to look after any new arrivals to their class. They also help any class member who is in need of additional care or attention. Their photographs are prominently displayed in the classroom.

Change for Life Mini-Champions

Two children per year group work as Change for Life Mini Champions to promote healthy lifestyles. They encourage healthy eating and lead active games in the playground.

Eco Warriors

Children from key stage 2 work as Eco Warriors in an after school fun club. They help to make our school more sustainable by carrying out eco checks and raising awareness of sustainability issues.

Global Ambassadors

One child from each class is selected by their peers to be a Global Ambassador. They meet with teachers to discuss ways of working with and learning from our partner schools in Europe. They take a lead in ensuring that the rights and views of all children are respected. They learn about Global Issues such as the plight of the homeless, those affected by drought or natural disasters and they encourage others to support campaigns such as 'Send My Friend to School' that supports the right for every child to have an education
